Middle SCHOOL

grades k-5

Covenant Christian Academy’s Middle School provides a supportive and challenging environment where students in grades six through eight develop academically, socially, and spiritually. With small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and a Christ-centered approach, students are encouraged to grow in independence and confidence as they transition into young adulthood.

Our teachers utilize current curriculum and strategies to differentiate instruction and guide each student toward their full potential. Rooted in Biblical truth, our program equips students to think critically, act responsibly, and demonstrate leadership both inside and outside the classroom. Every aspect of the Middle School experience—from academics to relationships—is designed to prepare students for success in high school and beyond.

Our program focuses on educating the whole child—academically, socially, and spiritually. Through small class sizes, individualized instruction, and an engaging curriculum, students grow in confidence, develop critical-thinking skills, and learn to demonstrate responsibility and respect. Each child is encouraged to pursue curiosity and creativity while forming a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

CORE CURRICULUM

The Middle School curriculum emphasizes mastery of key skills and concepts while nurturing curiosity and faith-driven learning. Core subjects include Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bible, and Health.

Students receive explicit instruction in vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, spelling, and writing. Grades 6–8 explore classic novels and focus on the writing traits of evidence, organization, purpose, and elaboration.

Problem-solving strategies are taught through a concrete-pictorial-abstract progression, with real-world and hands-on applications integrated throughout each unit of study.

Through experiments and inquiry-based projects, students investigate God’s creation and explore scientific concepts that build curiosity and critical thinking.

Students develop an understanding of history, geography, and cultures, while learning to think critically about global and local communities through a Biblical worldview.

Bible study helps students apply God’s Word to their daily lives and strengthens their faith through Scripture memorization, discussion, and service.

Required for all eighth-grade students, this course promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

ELECTIVES

Middle School students are encouraged to explore personal interests and discover new talents through a variety of elective opportunities.

Students engage in fitness, teamwork, and skill-building activities that promote lifelong health.

Electives in drama, dance, video production, and art give students opportunities for creative expression.

Digital tools support academic learning, collaboration, and preparation for future study.

Practical, skill-based learning allows students to explore the art of cooking and teamwork in a fun environment.

Students participate in leadership training, community outreach, and service projects that develop responsibility and empathy.

ENRICHMENT & LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

Beyond academics, CCA’s Middle School offers programs that promote leadership, service, and preparation for the future.

Open to 7th and 8th grade students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, NJHS promotes accountability, service, leadership, and character. Eligible students must meet all program requirements.

Students develop leadership skills by mentoring peers and serving as representatives of the student body, learning to make positive contributions to their school and community.

Each student participates in two school-planned service projects per year, earning service hours and learning the value of compassion and stewardship.

CCA graduates are consistently accepted into leading private and magnet high schools in Las Vegas, including Bishop Gorman and Faith Lutheran. CCA students benefit from priority placement at these institutions.
